Services for Gearold Lloyd "Jerry" Tanner will be 10:00 a.m., Fri., April 4th, 2008 at Lifechanger Church. Pastor Ted Estes will share words of comfort. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Jerry passed away Wed., April 2nd, 2008. He was 66.
Born April 1st, 1942 in the Old Franklin Hospital at Claremore, to Lloyd and Lucyle (Graham) Tanner, Jerry grew up in Claremore and Tulsa, graduating from Will Rogers High School in 1961. He served in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1967 stationed in Seoul, S. Korea. After returning from military service, Jerry attended NEO A&M and Arizona State University, earning a teaching degree.
On Dec. 3rd, 1966, Jerry and Mary Beth Lynn married in Tucson. They made their home in Tucson, returning to Claremore in 1979. Two children blessed their union. Jerry was employed most recently as a custodian at Owasso Precision Components. He was a long-time member of Lifechanger Church in Claremore.
Beloved family members who survive Jerry include his wife, Mary Beth, of their home in Claremore; his stepmother, Maybelle Tanner of Abilene, Texas; children, Susan Piguet and her husband, Ashley, of Claremore and Steve Tanner also of Claremore; grandchildren, Skeeter and Emily Tanner and Nichole Piguet; his brother Paul Tanner of Texas and Marlene Isbell of Houston, Texas; his aunt Billie Jean Wood and many cousins.
