The funeral of Mrs. Lelah H. Stevens, who died in a Lewistown hospital August 6, was held in the Presbyterian church at Coffee Creek Saturday afternoon, Rev. W.E. Braun, of Denton, officiating.
Mrs. Stevens was born in Illinois on March 11, 1855. She married John H. Stevens in 1871. After living a number of years in Iowa and Missouri they moved to Montana 18 years ago.
About ten days ago, during the extremely hot weather, Mrs. Stevens was taken suddenly ill with pneumonia, from which she did not recover. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, J.H. Stevens; her daugher, Mrs. Showen, and four grandchildren.
The funeral was largely attended by friends and neighbors, who brought beautiful flowers as tokens of love and respect for the departed.
