Harley J. Ferrel was the son of Andrew Jackson "Jack" Ferrel (1867-1954) and Eva J. (Carmichael) Ferrel (1871-1903), married 26 Oct 1890.
Harley had one full brother, Alva C. Ferrel (1900- ). His mother died when he was a child (2 months shy of 10 years old), and on 3 Nov 1904, his father remarried to Zadie Anna Kimple (1872-1946), and they had two children: Vera Zadie (Ferrel) Friel (1910-2004), and Emert Reese Ferrel (1917-1974). Harley married Anna Mary (Phillips) Ferrel on 21 Mar 1917, and they lives west of Hay Springs, Nebraska. They had three children: Alva John Ferrel (1918-2008), Donald Nelson Ferrel (1928-1988), and Vera A. (Ferrel) Brown (1920-1998).
