VERNAL--Sarah Christeen Angus Merrell, 82, died of natural causes April 12 in Salt Lake City. Born January 2, 1885, Spanish Fork, to John Alexander and Mary Jane Gribble Angus.

Married to Fuller Remington Merrell, September 18, 1902, Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died February 1963. Active member LDS Church.

Survivors: sons, daughters, Harold, John Ross, Grant, all Vernal; Karl, Ray, Delroy, all Salt Lake City; Mrs. Milby (Bessie) Lybbert, Inuvick, Northwest Territory, Canada; Mrs. Rayrel (Pearl) Cook, Mrs. Ted (Mabel) Handy, Both Vernal; Mrs. James (Marie) Jensen, Provo; 42 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, brothers, sister, Elmer, Blythe, California;Wilford, California; Mrs. Frank (Mary) Merrell, Vernal.

Funeral Saturday 11 a.m. Naples LDS Ward Chapel, where friends call one hour prior to services. Burial Vernal.

Sarah Merrell Honored at Naples Funeral.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Naples Ward Chapel for Sarah Christeen Angus Merrell, 82, of Vernal who died of natural causes April 12, in Salt Lake City.

Mrs. Merrell was born January 2, 1885 in Spanish Fork to John Alexander and Mary Jane Gribble Angus. She married Fuller Remington Merrell September 18, 1902 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died February of 1963.

She was active in the LDS Church.

Survivors include sons and daughters, Harold, John Ross and Grant of Vernal; Mrs. Thayrel (Pearl) Cook and Mrs. Thomas (Mable) Handy of Vernal; Karl, Ray and Delroy of Salt Lake City; Mrs. J. Milby (Bessie) Lybbert, Inuvick, NWT, Canada; Mrs. James A. (Marie) Jensen, Provo; step-mother, Bertha Angus, Ioka; sister, Mrs. Franklin (Mary) Merrell of Vernal; brothers, J. Elmer Angus, Blythe, California and Wilford Angus, Oatman, Arizona; half-sisters, Thelma Cook, Eva Percival and Uncle Remond; 43 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

The services were conducted by Bishop Glen Reynolds. Prelude and postlude music was played by Ada Openshaw. The Naples Ward Chorus sang "Oh My Father," accompanied by Mrs. Openshaw, followed by a prayer by Dee Manwaring. Bishop Reynolds read the obituary. Bishop Orlo Goodrich sang "In The Garden." Byron G. Goodrich, patriarch was the speaker. Bishop Goodrich sang "Kind Words." The Naples Chorus sang " Beautiful Home." Arthur Harrison gave the closing prayer.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Rondo Jensen, Henry and James E. Cook and Dale J., Wade R. and Boyd Merrell.

Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery. Bishop Morris Cook dedicated the grave.

Out-of-town guests were Bertha Angus and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Percival of Ioka; Mr. and Mrs. Orie Cook, Mrs. Lucille Winkler, all of Bluebell; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Burgess, Mr. and Mrs. Clista Angus and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Bird, all of Roosevelt.
