Andrew Schnell, 88, a former Town of Eaton farmer, died Friday morning, Feb. 22, at Calumet Homestead, New Holstein, where he resided for the past eight years.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel. The Rev. Francis Kercher will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Schnell was born Sept 23, 1891, in the Town of Eaton, son of the late John and Anna Herr Schnell. He attended St. Gregory Catholic School, St. Nazianz. He married Stella Madigan Oct. 17, 1916, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Osman. The couple operated a farm in the Town of Eaton unitl their retirement in 1964. Mrs. Schnell preceded him in death in 1972. Mr. Schnell was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, past member of Holy Name Society and past member of the Elder Grove School Board.
Survivors include four sons, John and Kenneth M. of Kiel, Francis of Milwaukee, and James of Sheboygan; six daughters, Mrs. Otto (Helen) Kaderabek of Manitowoc,
Mrs. Bernice Zielke of Milwaukee, Mrs. Walter (Alice) Dudarenke of Campbellsport, Mrs. Eugene (Gladys) Paulson of Sheboygan, Mrs. Edmund (Grace) Mikalofsky of Fond
du Lac, and Mrs. Wallace (Louise) Thiel of New Holstein; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Utecht of Oconomowoc, and Mrs Viola Harkins of Kiel; 43 grandchildren and 10 great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and four sisters.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m.
