Leah R. Lord, 82, of Perryville, Md. died Dec. 18, 1992, of heart failure at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, Md.

Mrs. Lord was born Aug. 21, 1910, in Virginia and was a daughter of the late George C. and Mayme E. Wampler Rodeffer.

She attended St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Perryville. She graduated from Weyers Cave High School in 1928 and Bridgewater College in 1932. She was a schoolteacher at Timber Ridge and Broadway from 1932 until 1941. She took social work training at Richmond Professional Institute until 1943 and was employed as a social worker in Richmond for one year. She was retired as a social work supervisor at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Perry Point, Md., here she worked 1944-73.

In 1952, she married John W. Lord, who died June 3, 1989.

Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Hill of Dayton, and two brothers, the Rev. William H. Rodeffer of McGaheysville and. David W. Rodeffer of Wilmington, Del.

The Rev. Donald K. Vinson will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Monday at the Patterson Funeral Home in Perryville, Md. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in- Port Deposit,
Md.

The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, in care of Patterson Funeral Home, Perryville, Md. 21903.
