Patrice La Vonne Bybee died April 11, 2009 at Mercy Hospital. She was born to Jeanne and Albert H. Lewis, September 19, 1939.

Pat studied piano, voice, Bible and Spanish. She attended OBU in Shawnee, and studied piano pedagogy under Dean Clarence Berg at Oklahoma City University. A longtime member of Central Oklahoma Music Teachers' Association, Pat took part in establishing the Spring Solo Festival which is sponsored each April by that group, and was a past president. Her love for music of all kinds was expressed through her longtime career as an independent piano teacher. Pat loved serving as Adult Choir Director for Hillcrest Christian Church when her family was young. Upon leaving Hillcrest Christian, she taught Adult Sunday School at The Church of Religious Science. She married the love of her life, Donald D. Bybee, September 11, 1976.

Pat loved ballroom dancing and tap. Pat and husband Don won several dance competitions, including the Las Vegas dance competition. "…and when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."

Pat leaves two children, daughter Shaun Morrow and husband David, Blanchard, son Scott Ziegler, Oklahoma City; 3 stepchildren, Marcia Van Norden, San Jose, California, Jimmie Don Bybee and wife Carol, Oklahoma City, and Robert Earl Bybee and wife Shari, Yukon; 3 brothers, David Farren, Kansas City, Missouri, Albert M. Lewis, Eric Lewis, and sister Cindy Nelson, all of California. Pat especially loved her family: two children and three stepchildren, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to a local animal shelter or the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals would be appreciated. A grateful friend of Bill W's, Pat served others through that fellowship.

The funeral will be held at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, Oklahoma on Thursday, April 16, 2009 with interment in Apache Cemetery.
