Services for R. B. Barger, 84, Ben Wheeler, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 26, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Gary Bell officiating. Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton. Mr. Barger died September 2, 1999, in Ben Wheeler.
He was born April 8, 1915, in Greenville to the late Charlie and Lizzie Morgan Barger. He attended school in Greenville. Most of his early life was spent in Waxahachie, where a street was named after him. He was a building contractor. He moved to Ben Wheeler in 1982, where he operated a trailer manufacturing company. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Tyler.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Barger, Ben Wheeler; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby L. and Hazel Barger, Ben Wheeler, and Paul W. and Bemedette Burger, Bedford; sisters, Frances Hamrick, Brenham and Corene Moller, Alvin; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
