The body of John Hutton, who died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Euretta Wagoner of Pike Street, was laid to rest in the Center Grove Cemetery at Lincolnville today. The funeral services were held at the Middle Street M.E. Church this morning. Rev. Mr. Overdeer officiated.
A hearse was used to carry the remains from the home to the church and then brought the remains to the city where they were put in a waiting bobsled and taken to the cemetery. Arrangements had been made to conduct the funeral services yesterday but owing to the weather it became necessary to postpone it until today.
John Hutton was born March 22, 1817 in Pennsylvania, the son of John Henry and Mary Parsons Hutton. On October 24,1844 he married Mary Eliza King. They had five daughters: Sarah Catharine(1845-1847), Euretta Jane(1848-1941), Zada Elizabeth(1850-1931), Martha Ann (Mattie)(1853-1886), and Mellie Ellen(1857-1893).
