According to Ontario, Canada Birth records, George was the son of George and Sarah (Fox) Jackson. He was born in York, York, Ontario, Canada on 25 Apr 1880. He emigrated on 1 Nov 1890 crossing into the United States at Buffalo, NY on the Grand Trunk R.R.

He married Anna Agatha Zalewski/Zalewska, a native of Wisconsin, about 1916. They were the parents of three children; Josephine Betty Keeney, Jane Laverne Crone and George Edward Jackson, Jr.

George petitioned for US citizenship in August 1908. Petitioner is an honorably discharged soldier and makes application for citizenship under Section 2166 R.S. He enlisted as a private in the 1st Battery Field Artillery on 23 Sep 1901 and was honorably discharged as a corporal on 22 Sep 1904. He reenlisted as a corporal on the 23 Sep 1904 and was honorably discharged 22 Sep 1907. He has resided in California since 1 January 1901. Petition dated 3 Aug 1908, Northern District of California in San Francisco. He became a naturalized citizen of the US on 07 Dec 1908. Served in the Philippines during the insurrection.
