Obit from Messenger of Truth Issue 12, 2006:

Adin F. Holdeman was born to Frank and Emma Overholt Holdeman on December 15, 1915, at their home in rural Hesston, Kansas. He departed this earthly life on May 10, 2006, at Mercy Hospital, Moundridge, Kansas.

Dad was a lifetime resident of the Hesston, Kansas, area, except for a few years spent in the mission field and other mission related places of service. When he was two and one-half years of age, his mother passed away, and her sister, Fanny, became his mother.

On January 28, 1928, Min. Frank Wenger baptized him at the Meridian Congregation, Hesston, Kansas, at the age of thirteen, and he became a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. He embraced and loved this faith until his end.

On September 18, 1938, he was joined in marriage to me, Elsie Mayeske, at Fredonia, Kansas. To this union four children were born: three daughters and one son. We enjoyed over sixty-seven years of married life together.
Dad was faithful in church attendance. He was a lover of song and served for many years as song leader. He was chosen with a group of brethren to compile our present church hymnal.

The years our parents served as missionaries in the country of Belize were a very special time for them. Dad would often share experiences and blessings of the work in which they were involved. Some time was also spent in the mission work in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Our father's occupation was in the manufacturing business. He was a founding partner of Hesston Corporation, Hesston, Kansas. He enjoyed working with steel and engineering new products.

We children greatly appreciate the heritage our parents left us. We rest in the assurance he left us of being at peace and being submitted to God's will for him.

Those left with fond memories are: his wife, Elsie; son, James and wife, Letha, Riceville, Iowa; daughters, Karen and Marlin Jantz, Fredonia, Kansas; Arlene and Jesse Giesbrecht, Glenn, California; and Becky and Charles Ratzlaff, Canton, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren and forty-four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilford and Willard; three sisters: Nina Holdeman, Emma Burns, and Twila Unruh; many nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends. His parents, stepmother, three brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.

The funeral service was held at the Meridian Congregation, Hesston, Kansas, on May 14, 2006. Officiating ministers were Eldon Wenger, Franklin Wenger, and Shawn Giesel. The interment was in the Meridian Church Cemetery adjacent to the church.
