Mr. Rowell was one of the original Secret City residents and retired from K-25 in 1980.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Lovie King Rowell,
Sons, John Rowell Jr. and Steve Rowell,
Sister, Mary Cox and
Grandchildren, Sherry Blackburn, Frank Rowell, Jackie Rowell, and Whitney Rowell and Great Grandson, Brian Blackburn.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 6 pm - 8pm at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 8pm with Dr. Mark Walton officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, 11am at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Glenwood Baptist Church, 200 S. Alabama, Oak Ridge, TN 37830 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
