Widely Known Tacoman Passes
Funeral Services to Be Held Thursday Afternoon

Mrs. Elsie Gertrude Lesher, 51, died Monday at her home, 2506 North Alder Street. She had been active in social and civic work in Tacoma for many years, having served as president of Women of Rotary, the auxiliary of the Young Men's Business club and the Presidents' council, and was a member of Joseph Warren chapter, O.E.S.; Delphians, Sixth Avenue Baptists Church, and the board of the Y.W.C.A.

Surviving are her husband, James P. Lesher; a son, James P. Jr.; three daughters, Mrs. R. G. Walker, Mrs. R. B. Butler and Mrs. Freda B. Worden: six grandchildren, three brothers, Ernest A. and Earl B. Rice in Tacoma and Everett W. Rice in Coulee City, and a sister, Mrs. Harvey Tanneberg, in Chewelah.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Buckley-King's funeral church, with the Rev. W.T. Turner officiating, and members of the Eastern Star in charge of services at the grave in Mountain View cemetery. Pallbearers will be R. M. A. Williams, Oso Snyder, Rinaldo Keasal, George Milstead, A. M. Angove and Lock McLean.
