Chris Paul Christensen, son of Chris and Marianne Christensen was born at Council Bluffs, Iowa on October 15, 1890 and died at the Howard County Memorial Hospital in St. Paul on October 31, 1966 after an illness of two months. He was 76 years old at the time of his death.

Mr. Christensen received his education in the public schools of the Council Bluffs area.

In 1909 the family moved to Nebraska and settled in Howard County where Mr. Christensen has made his home since with the exception of nine years between 1925 and 1934 when he farmed north of Central City.

On March 30, 1918 he was united in marriage with Helen Albertina Swanson at Grand Island. Six children were born to this couple. Mrs. Christensen preceded him in death on July 12, 1938.

Chris was a member of the Fairdale Methodist Church from 1934 until his death. He was for over ten years the Superintendent of the Fairdale Methodist Sunday School.

He was an avid baseball enthusiast and found great satisfaction in working with the boys and young people of his community.

Mr. Christensen is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of Kewanee, Illinois, and five sons: Chris W. of Kansas City, Missouri; James M. of York, Willard P. of Omaha, and Robert N. and Kenneth L. of St. Paul. Surviving also are three sisters: Mrs. Anna Christensen and Mrs. Elsie Cook of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mrs. Emma Olds of Omaha and one brother, Otto Christensen from Omaha. Nineteen grandchildren mourn his death.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Helen, his parents, two sisters, Osilla and Christine, a brother Carl and an infant grandson.

Burial was in the family plot at the Fairdale Cemetery.
