John Wiley Sanders went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2010. John Wiley Sanders of Ruston, Louisiana was born On August 20, 1924 in Arcadia, Louisiana. John is survived by Elsie Sanders, the love Of his life and wife of 66 years. He is also survived by his two adoring daughters, Jeannie Williams and Barbara Sanders, Son-in-law Jim Williams, Seven grandchildren, and Twelve great-grandchildren. John is also survived by his siblings Claudie Shaffer, Era Methvin, Joseph Sanders and Elouise Sanders, As well as many nieces and nephews. John W. Sanders is remembered as a proud World War II submarine veteran, Steamfitter by trade for over thirty years, But most importantly, as the leader of our family And inspiration of what each of us could be at our best. John's funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9th at Mt. Mariah Methodist Church in Arcadia. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Donations be given to Mt. Mariah Church in John Wiley Sanders name.
