DANIEL BUFFINTON

Note: I have rehearsed his death record and it states he was born in October in 1886 and I have found his U.S. World War 11 Draft registration card and it gives October 25th, 1888. So I am not adding the month of December for his birth month.

Funeral for Daniel W. Buffington, a retired railroad brakeman who died Wednesday, will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Young's Funeral Home, Tigard.

Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Heppner.

Mr. Buffington was 88 and lived at 15890 SW Royalty Parkway. Born Christmas Day, 1886, in Doniphan, Mo., he moved to Oregon in 1915 and lived in Portland 40 years before moving to Tigard eight years ago.

He worked for Union Pacific for 45 years and was a member of the company's Old Timers Club.

Mr. Buffington is survived by his wife Nora; son Jack, Portland; daughter Ruth L. Varney, Portland; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances be contributed to the Oregon Heart Association.
