Baumgartner, Joseph Alex (Sept. 1, 1887-June 2, 1965 –husband of Regina Loos [married Sept. 2, 1912 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton] –son of Louis Baumgartner and Rose Gerhard –born Town of Eaton –carpenter –on Nov. 16, 1911 obtained from his parents the vacant lot at 509 South Fourth Avenue in St. Nazianz and built a house –Joseph and his wife Regina owned this house until selling on Nov. 4, 1919 –Joseph worked for such carpenter contractors as Isadore Meyer, Anton Schwoerer, and Frank Bushman –from 1918 to 1930 they lived on the Salvatorian Seminary farm west of St. Nazianz and helped with the farm work –from March 27, 1950 to March 19, 1953, Joseph owned the 160 acre farm at 14207 County C in Section 28, Town of Liberty –after selling this farm, Joseph and Regina moved back to St. Nazianz and lived in the Gerhard House at 217 Church Street in St. Nazianz –Joseph then became the janitor at St. Gregory –on July 17, 1954 inherited the Gerhard house at 217 Church Street in St. Nazianz and lived here until his death in 1965 –died from “myocardial infarction, coronary occlusion, coronary arteriosclerosis, post renal azotemia”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 4, Row 1, Lot 6] [marriage record Manitowoc 10-800] [death record Manitowoc 61-8]

Joseph Baumgartner, 77, of St. Nazianz, died Wednesday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Born Sept, 1, 1887, in St. Nazianz, the son of Louis and Rose Gerhard Baumgartner, he was married there to Regina Loos on Sept. 2, 1912. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Gregory's Parish.
Survivors are a son, Ervin of St. Nazianz; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Loretta) Stahl, of R. 1, New Holstein; two brothers, Anton of St. Nazianz and Frank of Mishawaka, Ind.; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death March 3, 1963.
Funeral services will be held at the Christianson Funeral Home in St. Nazianz and at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. The Rev. Raphael Birringer will officiate and interment will be in the parish cemetery.
