KILBOURNE, IL - Robert Lelan Griffin, 64, of 214 N. Second St. died at 12:16 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Mason District Hospital in Havana., IL

Born Jan. 21, 1934, in Kilbourne to Clinton and Sylvia Myrtle Curry Griffin, he married Julia A. Pratt on Dec. 3, 1960, in Kilbourne. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert of Petersburg and John "Lee" of Springfield; one brother, William Cave of Weeping Waters, Neb.; and three granddaughters.

Five brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. He worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 34 years.

He coached Little League in Kilbourne for 13 years.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. The Rev. Robert Low will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakford Cemetery in Oakford, where military rites will be conducted by Havana Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6408. Memorials may be made to a college fund for his granddaughters, c/o National Bank of Petersburg.
