In her youth, Dolores survived a deadly tornado which took from her a loving father and beautiful little sister, Shirley, whom she dearly missed. After the tornado, although injured, Dolores helped her mother to love and raise her four surviving sisters: Charlene, JoAnn, Mary and Dorothy.
Dolores attended Capitol Hill High School and played in the band. During WWII, Dolores married the love of her life, Carl Ashbrook Tolson, and their marriage lasted more than 60 years. From its inception, Dolores worked for South Community Hospital more than 25 years before she retired. Dolores loved to cook, and she was the very best!
Dolores and Carl were blessed with 5 children: Carl, Jr., Carla Ann, Cheryl, Steven and Patricia. Dolores was a member of South Lindsay Baptist Church, where she spent many years as a Bible teacher. She was a faithful servant of the Lord. Dolores was a good wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
