Clyde is the 6th child of Frederick Treachler b. 1860 and Phoebe Susan Mogg b. 1862. He was born in Prescott, Michigan after his parents had moved with his older siblings from Saugeen, Bruce, Ontario, Canada. His father was a farmer.

He married Ethel Mae Minor on Sep 29 1915 in Cadillac, Wexford, Michigan. At that time, Clyde was farming in Harlan. Sometime before 1930, Clyde moved his family to Ann Arbor where he was a grinder for Hoover Ball Bearing Co. At the time of his death in 1945, he was a foreman.

Violet, Ella Mae, Russell, Royal, Gloria and Joyce.
