Harry Pflug eventually became Vice President of Union County Trust bank in NJ. He started out as a clerk in banking and worked his way up. He was president of the Elizabethport Lions Club for many years. He was 70 when he retired from the bank and received the key to the city from the mayor at his retirement dinner. He was well known in the city and was recognized by his Stetson hat which he always wore. He was known as an old-fashion banker where he made deals by shaking hands.
