Edward is the fifth child of Frederick Treachler b. 1860 and Phoebe Susan Mogg b. 1862. His parents and older siblings moved from Saugeen, Bruce to Ogemaw, Michigan in the mid 1880'2 where Edward was born. His father was a farmer.
His family then moved to Wexford where he met and married Mary Cleo Ritter on Jul 10 1918 in Harlan, Wexford. They farmed in Cleon, Manistee and Harlan, Wexford where their twins were born. Edward and family then moved to Dexter where 2 more children were born. He was a machinist for a steel ball bearing comany.
