Mary is the daughter of John Bell and Frances McCabe (or Martin)

George Cosgrove married Mary on Christmas day - 1901 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is listed as an attorney and she is listed as a milliner. In the 1910 census, this older couple is listed in Ann Arbor with 3 adopted daughters - Genieve b. 1898, Mildred b. 1901 and Anna born 1903 and also 2 of Mary's adopted nieces - Blanch and Florence Bell, both working in the Mary's Millinery Store.

These adopted daughters and nieces are the daughters of Mary's brother Charles Bell and wife Margaret Alice Darling who died in 1909 and 1906. They also had an older brother Harley J and sister Hazel J (In the 1900 census).

Anna (Annabelle) may be the only actual adopted daughter as she listed George and Mary as her parents on her marriage record and her birth location changed to Louisville, Kentucky. Mildred married using the Cosgrove name but listed her parents as Charles and Margaret.

Annabelle first married Harold Emmett, a pharmacist on Aug 14, 1925 in Highland Park, this couple divorced. She later married Timothy Gilbert Meulenberg Jul 7, 1934 in Elkhart, Indiana. Annabelle passed away Jul 29, 1949 in Highland Park. The obituary says that she was survived by her husband and son Jon.
