Bernice I. MURPHY, 98, Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth, formerly of Rochester, died at 4:25 a.m. Saturday at her residence.
Born in Macy to William and Lela HORTON ALSPACH, she married Richard MURPHY in 1930 in Indianapolis. She married Walter BARRETT Sept. 25, 1983, in Plymouth. He died Aug. 19, 1992.
Mrs. Murphy was a Rochester resident most of her life, moving to Plymouth 27 years ago. She was a 1922 Macy High School graduate and a 1925 graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Indianapolis. She was a registered nurse at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester. She was a member of First Christian Church, Rochester.
Survivors include one daughter, Marlene TUCK and husband Edward, Lebanon, N.H.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rochester IOOF Cemetery, 620 W. Third St., with Rev. Junior BOSE officiating.
