Gideon McCord Dies Following Heart Attack

Gideon B. McCord, a former resident and businessman of Healdsburg, died July 17, in St. Helena Sanitarium after a bried illness.

Mr. McCord died following a severe heart attack suffered July 11. He owned and operated a beauty shop for 30 years in Healdsburg. Since 1950, he had been a barber at the Veterans Home, Yountville.

His home was on Santa Rosa Road, Oakville.

He was a member of the Santa Rosa Lodge, BPO, Elks and of Sotoyome Post 111, American Legion, Healdsburg.

A native of Oregon, he was 66 years of age.

Mr. McCord is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosella M. McCord of Oakville; by his children, Cathryn Edna McCord and Roger Rollin McCord, both of Oakdale and Mrs. Gladys Londin of San Leandro and by his brothers, Rollin McCord and Charles McCord, both of Healdsburg.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Veterans' Home Chapel, Yountville.

Burial was at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
