Norman Dove was born on August 1, 1935 in Elberton, Ga. He was the fourth of seven children born to Roy and Lizzie Dove. He was raised in Elbert County, Ga and Abbeville County, SC. He graduated from Calhoun Falls "Blue Flashes" High School in 1953 and was voted "Most Athletic" and "Cutest" by his classmates.

After graduation, he joined the Army during the Korean War. While in boot camp the armistice was signed on July 27, 1953. He was stationed in Germany.After Military Service, He moved to Chicago, IL where he worked in a bank and met his future wife. He returned to Elberton, Georgia with her to raise their family. Like his Great Grandfather Tom Dove, He was a trader and made his living, "buying and selling" collectibles.

He was always a Godly man, but in the last fifteen years of his life he had a zeal for the Christian Faith and read through the bible numerous times. He went home to meet his God and Savior on November 26, 2008 at the age of 73. He had three children and four grandchildren.
