Rush was the son of Matilda and Porter Baldwin.
He married Phebe Maria Friend in 1866.
They were the parents of: Addie - born July 22, 1868, died December 17, 1940; Clarence E. - born Dec. 13, 1871, died Feb. 20, 1889; Estella E. - born Dec. 15, 1876, died Feb. 16, 1909 and Lee E. - October 13, 1883, died December 6, 1940.
Phebe preceded him in death and he married Emmaline "Emma" J. Oberholtzer Brown.
Rush was a Veteran of the Civil War. The 1890 Soldiers census states he served from 1861-1865 and was a Second Master Sergeant.
In 1866, Rush was united in marriage to Phoebe Maria Friend, who was born near Beria, Ohio on December 30, 1847.
Their children were born & raised in Sebewa.
On April 9, 1910, Rush married a second time to Emma Brown and they owned the west 120 acres that became the home of Ron Lenneman and farm on Grand River Ave., W ½ NW ¼ Sec. 32 and E ¼ NE /4 Sec. 31 Portland Township, next to the Wagon Wheel. A photo of the home is on the memorial page of his wife.

Additional information: Addie married Albert B. Culver II of Ionia, MI on Dec. 27, 1893. They resided in Mexico and Pasadena, CA, and are buried in Portland, MI.
Estella E. married Frank Wilson Pryer on November 20, 1895. Frank, born August 1, 1862, died July 3. 1921, and lived in Danby Township. They are buried in Portland Cemetery.
Lee Baldwin married Bertha Ellen Taft on November 15, 1903. She was born in Ionia on April 21, 1885, the couple resided in Breckenridge, MI.
