Robert S. "Bob" Duck, Jr., 80, a native of Bay Minette and resident of Loxley, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was manager of Flowerwood Nursery, Loxley for 40 years, past president and honorary member of the Alabama Nurseryman's Assoc. He was also an active member of the Loxley United Methodist Church, member to the Loxley Planning Committee, and long time actively involved with the Loxley Community.
Survivors include: two daughters, Amy (Forrest) Yerby; Laura Chaffin; two sons, Jimmy (Peggy) Duck; Pat (Anita) Duck all of Loxley; two sisters, Verna Turk of Atmore; Betty Jean Pelt of Josephine; one brother, Fulton Duck of Bay Minette; seven grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Loxley United Methodist Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Loxley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Loxley United Methodist Church Building Fund.
