Bertie Cruse
SPRINGFIELD — A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for Bertie Cruse of Springfield, who died March 24 of age-related causes. She was 95.
She was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Sunburst, N.C., to Robert and Mary Daves Wyatt. She married Marion Cruse in 1943 in Bremerton, Wash.
She attended Junction City High School. During and after World War II, she worked in civil service for the Navy.
Survivors include two sons, Duke Terwillegar and Mitchell Terwillegar, both of Springfield; a daughter, Elodie Freeman of Wrangell, Alaska; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Her husband died Sept. 1, 1983. A daughter, Mary Jo Cruse Terwillegar died previously and a granddaughter, Micki Jo Terwillegar, died in 2008.
Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
