Nicolaus; owns 480 acres of land; born in Audrain county, Missouri, 1846; lived there until he was about 18; came to California in 1865 and settled in this county. Married Miss Hattie E. Lipp, January 14, 1874; a native of Placer county, California; they have four children - three sons and one daughter."
