Charles was the son of Henry Dorman and Mary "Polly" Woodruff.
Husband of Josephine.
Children: Edith Dorman 1877-1906 m: Leroy Spring.

Charles is a Civil War Veteran. He enlisted in Co. D, 22nd Regiment Connecticut Volunteer Infantry on Aug. 30, 1862 and was mustered in on Sept. 20, 1862. He was mustered out on July 7, 1863, in Hartford, CT. He enlisted for a second time, in Co. D, 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery, on Sept. 3, 1864 and was discharged on June 29, 1865.
