WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, Chief Petty Officer serving in the Pacific aboard submarine.
served Sept 4, 1941 - July 1, 1969
When Pearl Harbor was attacked 7 December 1941, Uncle Earl was on leave at his parent's home in Baltimore, MD. Leave was immediately cancelled and he was directed to report to the US Naval Submarine Base in New London, CT. His brother, Max, drove him from Baltimore to the base. With the base being on high alert Max was not allowed to stop the vehicle for Earl to get out so he drove as slowly as possible and Earl got out on the run.
