Carl Edward Barnett of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Bloomington Hospital Hospital. Born on February 27 1923, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Everett and Sylvia (Tincher) Barnett. He married Jean Bever on May 11, 1956, in Bedford, IN, and she survives.

Also surviving is one sister, Flora McCain of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Walter Barnett.

He worked in the stone industry as a crane operator for forty-three years, first at the Heltonville Mill, then at Indiana Limestone. He was an Army veteran. He was a member of the AFL-CIO International Union of Operating Engineers and the American Legion Gillen Post #33.

Services for Carl Barnett will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13th, at Ferguson0Lee Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Beggerly officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with graveside military rites accorded by the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
