Mr. and Mrs. Perry A. Nickell (above) formerly of Sturgis but who now live one-fourth of a mile north of Moorepark, or six miles north of Three Rivers on US-131, will mark their 54the wedding anniversary Friday, Jan. 21.
When they were residents of Sturgis Mr. Nickel was employed by the Harter Corporation and Mrs. Nickel held a position with Kirsch Company.
They were married in Falmuth, Ky., Jan 21 1900. After living in Sturgis a number of years they moved to Moorepark, 11 years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Nickell have six children – Lona B. Nickel, of Benton Harbor; Mrs. Harold Betty Brookshire, of Morocco, Africa; Claude H., of Dearborn; Mrs. Esta McKale, of Sturgis; Mrs. Loy E. Lewis, of Benton Harbor, and Arthur, at home. A daughter, Erma is deceased.

THREE RIVERS - Perry A. Nickell, 89, formerly of 516 11th St., Tree Rivers, died Sunday evening in Fairview Hospital, Centreville, where he had been a patient for the last seven years.
He was born in Menifee County Ky., Nov. 20, 1878, a son of James and Virginia Nickell. His marriage to Ida Krebs was solemnized in Menifee County, Jan. 29, 1900.
The couple moved to LaGrange, Ind., in 1903 and to Sturgis, where he was employed by the Harter Corporation until his retirement, before moving to the Three Rivers area in 1940.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur, Three Rivers, and Claude, Dearborn: two duaghters, Mrs. Esta McKal, Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Ethel Lewis, Benton Harbor: 10 Grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and three children.
Friends may call at the Rosenberg Funeral Home here, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Eugene Moore, pastor of the Ninthe Street Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will take place in Greewood Cemetery, at LaGrange, Ind.
