Sarah was born two days after Christmas 1838, to Samuel Barnett Ramsey and Elizabeth Shoup Ramsey. When Sarah was born, Athens was part of Sangamon County, Illinois.

The family moved in 1852 on the Oregon Trail to Lane County, Oregon. That is where Sarah met and married Jackson Lafayette Hall,(marriage cert says John Hall) a muler from Tennessee (later Nacogdoches, Texas). They married 8 October 1857.

They were living in Jackson County, Oregon in the 1870 US census.

Ten children were born to them. James Alexander, Edward Louis, Amory Jackson, Martha Elizabeth, John Barnett, Clarence Victor, Jacob Henry, Samuel Marion, Mary Marlissa, Charles Marion Hall.

Family stories say that Sarah died in Skull Valley, Arizona, while on a trip to Texas. She died the day after her son, Charles M. Hall was born.

Five of the children were living with Jackson Lafayette Hall's sister in Coryell County, Texas during the 1880 census. Jackson L. Hall was in Nacogdoches County, Texas at the time.

Her husband and several children moved to Yavapai county, Arizona and were there in the 1900 US census. Then down to Mohave Co. in Chloride and Kingman.

Gravesite Details

2010 Question abt middle name being Elizabeth. 1870 Census Jackson Co Or. states J. 1850 Pic says Jane. Only Gladys French Hall says Elizabeth.Believe Jane her middle name. Family story is Sarah was buried out in Skull Valley, not in Cemetery.
