Iva M. Livengood, 94, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, in the home of her daughter, Jeanie Miller, at Valley Point.
The daughter of the late Lemuel Reed and Louisa Bell Hamer Dixon, she was born March 17, 1907, at Reitz, Pa. She was the last surviving member of her family.
She was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Cuzzart Helping Hands Quilting Club, Preston County Senior Citizens of Bruceton Mills, and a charter member of the Lenox Homemakers Club.
She was a housewife and loving mother and grandmother. She and her husband, the late Ralph Livengood, operated a dairy farm for many years in the Lenox community.
Iva is survived by a son and spouse, Stanley and Ella Livengood, of Valley Point; three daughters, Betty Jenkins, of Lenox, Jeanie and spouse, Don Miller, of Valley Point, and Judy and spouse, John Bolyard, of Morgantown; and a daughter-in-law, Wanda Livengood, of Reedsville.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and spouses: Sue and Kermit Gribble; Robert and Kay Jenkins; Eugene and Joan Jenkins, John and Kelly Jenkins, Jack and Vickie Jenkins, Bev and Jeff Stone; Brad and Roseanna Livengood; Brian and Kathy Livengood; Barry Livengood and friend, Mary; the Rev. T.R. and Marcia Miller; Jeff and Susi Miller; Jody and Bev Bolyard; Jeff and Michele Bolyard; Jonna and the Rev. David Reed; Stoney and Stacey Livengood; Scott and Holi Livengood.
She is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren and spouses: Todd and Rhonda Gribble; Terryll Gribble; Tonja Gribble; Jason Jenkins; Jared Jenkins; Ashley Jenkins; Tiffany and Chip Foreman; Logan Jenkins; Nicole Burnside; Natalie McMillen; Nathan and Lori Livengood; Shane and Amy Livengood; Shawn and Wendy Livengood; Shelley Livengood; Missy Miller; T.J. Miller; Misty Miller; Justin Miller; Brenda Bolyard; Jesse Bolyard; Josiah Bolyard; Shelby Bolyard; Winnie Reed; Abby Reed; Abbie Livengood; Brody Livengood; McKenzie Livengood; and Emma Elizabeth Livengood.
Five great-great grandchildren also survive: Colby and Kendall Gribble; Madison and Ethan Livengood, and Emily Livengood, and one on the way; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ralph C. Livengood, on June 14, 1986; two daughters, Aletha Livengood, March 16, 1927, and Barbara J. Livengood, May 26, 1935; a son, Ralph Glen Livengood, Jan. 23, 2001; a son-in-law, Harold Jenkins, Dec. 23, 1997; a great-grandson, Jeffery Kyle Miller, Jan. 10, 1986; brothers: Jess, Ray, William, Irwin, J. Orville and Lemuel Dixon; and sisters: Blanch Smith, Viola Graham, Grace Sell, Mary Stull, Jo Graham and Mamie Shaffer.
Arrangements were by the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville. Funeral services were in the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 with the Revs. T.R. Miller, David Reed and Gary Reed officiating. Burial followed in the Parnell Cemetery, Cuzzart.
