Edward "Ray" Pierce of Springville, IN, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at the Hospitality House. Born on October 17, 1911, in Lawrence County, IN he was the son of Samuel and Ida Ellen (Skeen) Pierce. He married Mary Alice Turner on April 17, 1945, and she survives.

Also surviving are three sons: Larry Lake and Vic Pierce, both of Fayetteville, IN, and Danny Pierce of Avoca, IN; two daughters, Elaine Shelton of Seymour, IN, and Carolyn Shackleford of Fayetteville, IN; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers; Tom, Morgan, Charlie, Oba and Hershel Pierce; and seven sisters: Hattie Turner, Laura Warner, Stella Duncan, Eva Webb, Violet Fields, Lottie Pierce, and Nellie Spray.

He was a self-employed construction worker and a retired farmer. He attended Fayetteville Baptist Church.

Services for Edward Pierce will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 5th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayetteville Church of Christ Cemetery.
