Lilliard Eugene Hathcock Sr., 65, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus after a long illness. He was born April 26, 1938, in Monroe County to Bertha Addington Hathcock and the late William Aloise Hathcock. He lived in Amory most of his life and graduated from Amory High School. He attended Itawamba Community College. He was a long distance truck driver for 37 years. He was a member of the Mississippi National Guard and the Church of Christ. He enjoyed NASCAR and coin collecting.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Philip Hathcock officiating. Burial will be in Hatley Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Marie Hathcock of Amory, whom he married in 1963; his mother, Bertha Addington Hathcock of Amory; two sons, Lilliard Eugene Hathcock Jr., and Kendall Roy Hathcock and wife, Belinda Michelle, both of Amory; two sisters, Janie Love of Naples, Fla., and Wendy H. Roebuck and husband, Wayne, of Amory; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Michelle Hathcock and Austin Kyle Hathcock.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Juanita Larrison.

Pallbearers will be members of the Mississippi National Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Breakfast Club at Country Boys in Amory.

Visitation will continue until service time today.
