Henry R. Beckwith, one of the oldest citizens in this section of the country, died at his residence in Waymart, Wednesday night last. The deceased had been ailing for sometime, and gradually grew worse the forepart of the week, until death ended his sufferings. He was born in New London County, Conn., on Jan. 23, 1810. In his youth he removed to New York, and in 1846, was united in marriage to Abbie Kimble, of New York City. She with two daughters and one son. Mrs. Henry Tonkin, of Herrick Centre, Mrs. Dwight Smith and Edward Beckwith, of Clinton, are left to morn his loss. The funeral was held in the Methodist Episcopal Church Friday.
