A native of Hawthorne, he was employed at the Hawthorne Naval Ammunition Depot for 33 years.
Following his retirement from the base in 1958, he worked for Mineral County High School for 12 years and retired in 1961.
Just prior to his death he was working with the Walker River Indian Housing project.
Survivors include his wife Jessie of Hawthorne; sons, Edwin Jr., of Reno, Harlen of Carson City, Melvin of Reno and Eugene of Hawthorne; daughters Shirley Moad of Carson City and Beatrice McMinn of Los Angeles, two grandsons.
A funeral wil be conducted Monday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Hawthorne with burial to follow in the Schurz Cemetery.
