James Matlock Ogden was the Indiana State Attorney General from 1924-1933. He graduated from Harvard University and was admitted to the Indiana Bar becoming president of the Indiana University School of Law in 1944. Mr. Ogden was a past president of the National Association of Attorneys General and vice-president of the American Bar Association. Ogden also was a legal author of Ogden's Negotiable Instruments, Ogden's Manual and Provisions for Attorneys Fees in Negotionable Instruments, and other works as well as writing for legal journals. Mr. Ogden was married to Bess Alice Dean, and they were the parents of Elizabeth Dean Ogden, Mary Ann OgdenParrish, and James Matlock Ogden, Jr.
