CALLED BY DEATH
Christoph Arnold, one of the old-time resident of the town of Schleswig, passed away on Saturday forenoon at 11 o'clock, at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Engel, where he had been making his home the past three years.

Mr. Arnold was born in Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, May 1, 1840, and came to America at the age of 6 years with his parents, who settled in the town of Herman, Sheboygan county, on a farm.

He was united in marriage in 1866 to Charlotte Stark, the couple later making their home on a farm in the town of Schleswig, where they resided many years. Later they lived on the Plank road east of Kiel. Mrs. Arnold died in 1896.

Mr. Arnold always enjoyed good health up to last summer when he began to ail with a complication of diseases, which finally caused his death.

He reached the advanced age of 80 years, 5 months and 15 days, and is survived by three sons, three daughters, 10 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Hollensteiner. 1920.
