Florence Evelyn Cox passed away June 16, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born August 26, 1912, Fountain Green, Utah to William and Florence Ann Tearmain Coombs.

Moved to Salt Lake City in 1929. Graduated from LDS High School, Salt Lake City, in 1931. Evelyn married Paul W. Cox January 30, 1933, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She worked with her husband in two family businesses: Paul's Food Stores and Mountain States Bindery. She lived in Salt Lake City and Price, Utah and in Rock Springs and Robertson, Wyoming. She was a member of Garden Park Ward (Salt Lake City) where she served as Primary teacher, secretary and president for sixteen years. Evelyn served with her husband in the Southwest British and British Missions in 1963 and 1964. While there, she was Mission Primary President and worked with Deseret Enterprises. She lived and worked with her husband on a family ranch at Robertson, Wyoming and attended Mountain View Ward, Lyman, Wyoming Stake. At the time of her death she was living at Zion Summit in Salt Lake City. She was gifted at knitting and crocheting and taught her skills to others, including many of her Primary students. She also loved to play the organ.

She is survived by her husband, Paul, Salt Lake City; two sons, Gary Paul Cox (Donna) and M. Lee Cox (Nancy), both Bountiful; nine grandchildren, Steven G. Cox (Jan), West Jordan; Matthew L. Cox, Bountiful; Lori Strasser (Danny), Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Kati Layosa (Chuck) and Jennifer Cox, both Bountiful; Geoffrey L. Cox (Mary) and David G. Cox, both Salt Lake City; Douglas P. Cox, Bountiful; Nathan W. Cox (Christy), Salt Lake City; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters: Ruth McClure, Salt Lake City; Melba Watkins, Chula Vista, California; Dora Durbidge and Lorna Hansen, both Salt Lake City.

A grandson, Daniel P. Cox, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Thursday, June 20th, at the Capitol Hill First Ward, 24 West 200 North, Salt Lake City. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, and at the Ward on Thursday, from 11-11:50 a.m., prior to the service. Burial, Murray City Cemetery.
