A retired employee of Y&R Advertising and a member of Arlington Church of Christ, he served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II where he was decorated during his three years service in Europe.
The son of the late William M. and Bertha Bain Crouch, he was preceded in death by son, James W. Crouch Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Hiram Stubblefield; and son-in-law, Ed Kleinhample.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Crouch; son, Melvin Crouch of McMinnville; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna L. and Tom Sanders of St. Petersburg, Fla., Virginia and Michael F. Mahoney of Holiday, Fla., and Martha K. Kleinhample of Land-O-Lakes, Fla.; two granddaughters, two great-grandsons; sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred Potter of Chattanooga, Irene and Charlie Stembridge of McMinnville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High's Chapel with Odell Powell and Charles Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery with military graveside rites administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
