The Reno family moved from Windsor to Whatland MO. when Cecil was in sixth grade. He was a graduate of Wheatland High School. A member of the Wheatland Christian Church, he was baptized February 16, 1930,and enjoyed attending church regularly each Sunday as his health permitted him to go.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mildred who died at four years of age and one adopted grandson, Gregory Reno.
