Ethel M. Kirk Allen of Mitchell, IN, died Thursday, February 15, 2001, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on June 20, 1914, in Arkansas, she was the daughter of Odis and Mary (Brown) Taylor. She married Floyd Kirk in 1934, and he preceded her in death. She then next married Arthur Allen, and he preceded her in death.

Surviving are four sons: Dean Kirk, Larry Kirk, and Denny Kirk, all of Mitchell, IN, and Gene Kirk of Bedford, IN; three daughters: Geneva Voorhies and Colleen Arnold, both of Mitchell, IN, and Gayle Bex of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mae Coots of Henryville, IN, and Betty Yates of Colorado; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was a retired cook at Head Start in Mitchell. She was a member of Mitchell Church of Nazarene and Mitchell Senior Citizens.

Services for Ethel Allen will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18th, at Mitchell Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Mark Bechtel officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery.
