Bort about two miles east of Gerstner MO. The family moved north of Collins where Myrtle attended Oak Grove school with a total of 12 students. About 1925 the family moved to Garden City, MO. After her parents divorced, her mother and the four children moved back to Gerster and then up the road from her mother's parents in Hickory Co.
Myrtle was a school cook for ten years, operated a bakery at Bolivar for 3 years and she and Cecil had a restaurant business for ten years.

They were married October 31, 1936, and have lived in Whatland all their married lives. They have two sons, Bob and Luana Reno of Steelville MO., and Glen and Shirley Reno of Wheatland, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
