John Edward Barber, 49, of Molalla died April 5, 2009 in Long Beach, Wash. while riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Mr. Barber was born Sept. 7, 1959 in Oregon City to Dale and Jean Barber. He attended Mt. Angel Elementary and Rural Dell Grade School and graduated from Molalla High School in 1977. He was active in 4-H and Future Farmers of America during his youth and was a Molalla police cadet as a young adult. He enjoyed doing anything that involved working with his hands; he built several things on his farm from scratch, including a Harley-Davidson motorcycle for his wife. He raised animals on his farm with his daughters and enjoyed hanging out with his friends and riding his motorcycle.

He was a member of Rose City Harley Owners group. On Feb. 15, 1980 he married LEANN YORK in Molalla; they had two daughers together and also raised their nephew.

Survivors include his wife, Leann Barber; daughters, Corissa Bunch and Cristy Barber of Molalla; nephew and son, Craig York of Wilsonville; mother, Jean Barber of Wilsonville; and sister, Iola Barber of Canby. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Barber; sister, Cheryl Warner, and brother, Raymond Barber.

Services were held April 13 at Canby Alliance Church. Burial was at Adams Cemetery in Molalla.
