Eleanor Louise Caldwell Barkley, 91, of Huntersville, NC passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the Brian Center of Mooresville.
Born on May 26, 1917 in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Ervin Quitman Caldwell and Mittie Jane Bumgarner Caldwell.
She retired from Union Carbide after 32 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marcus Barkley; sisters, Frances Perry, Jane McAllister, an infant sister; brothers, Clifton and Ray Caldwell and an infant brother.
Survivors include her brothers, Roy and Thomas Caldwell; sisters, Jennie Caldwell Barkley, Helen Caldwell Gilbert, Margaret Caldwell Ward and Merle Caldwell Barnette; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Williamson's Chapel UMC in Mooresville with Rev. Andrea Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
