OBITUARY WARREN RITES HELD SUNDAY
William Jessie Warren, 89, a resident of Davis for the past 41 years, died Saturday morning in the Arbuckle Memorial hospital following a long illness.
Funeral services for the retired cafe operator were held Sunday, April 23, at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist church with Elder Jerry Newman of Duncan and Rev. Jim House officiating. Interment was in Green Hill cemetery with arrangements being made by Bahner Funeral home. Pallbearers were his grandsons.
Warren was born May 30, 1871, in Palaska (sic), Tenn., where he spent his early life. He moved to Murray county in 1915 and to Davis in 1920.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Julia Shelton of Temple, Okla., Mrs. Bonnie Edwards of Oklahoma City, Maj. Blanche Johnnesson of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Inez Hawkins of Davis; four sons, L. O. Warren of Sulphur, Willie of Davis, LeRoy and Charles of Oklahoma City; a foster son, Rev. LeRoy Tignor of Sulphur, three brothers, L. A., John, and Wilburn, all of Davis; 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
